A goal is so much more than just a thought in your head. It is more than just a list of things that would be nice to get done “one day”.
Goals are a profound message of who you are and what you’re capable of becoming.
Happy and successful people are fueled by goals. That’s an undeniable fact. I bet my integrity that you could not show me one happy and successful person who did not start with a goal or a vision of who they wanted to become.
But Why Do Most People Fail To Follow Through With Their Goals?
Because most people fail to see goals as a process of internal development. They instead see goals as a list of things that need to be done. And in doing so, they will see every reason and obstacle of why something can’t be done.
* I don’t have enough money…
* I don’t have enough time…
* I have too many other responsibilities…
* It’s too risky…
Newsflash! There’s no REASON for excuses!
Because those who achieve success and those who achieve their goals with purpose and happiness, realize that the true power of goals is not about materialistic gains or earning a list of achievements. They realize that the gains and achievements are a symbol of excellence. They realize that goals symbolize who you are becoming as a person.
“We are not human beings on a spiritual journey. We are spiritual beings on a human journey.” —Stephen R. Covey, author of international bestseller, 7 Habits of Highly Successful People
Goals are the human journey toward the development of your spiritual being.
And when you realize that goal setting and achievement is a process of internal development and not external gain… every single excuse dissipates into thin air. Why? Because when you start seeing things from this point of view, setting and achieving goals is not about resources, it’s about resourcefulness.
You see, a black belt karate student doesn’t have to measurably be the biggest or tallest or strongest person in the world to be the champion. The mark of a champion resides in the fighting spirit, doesn’t it? The resourcefulness, not the resources.
So, it’s not about whether you have the time… it’s about creatively planning your day. It’s not about having the money… it’s about fueling yourself on determination. It’s not about having the right contacts… it’s about tapping into curiosity for creative solutions. It’s not about whether you have the right experience, it’s about driving on passion. It’s not about whether or not you can manage it, it’s about whether you have the resolve.
And this is probably why many other goal-setting programs have not worked for you! They have not identified the true meaning behind having goals. And without that meaning, all you see is obstacles. And when you see obstacles, achieving goals becomes a task… a chore… a difficulty… when in actual fact, it should be a simple pursuit of happiness.
The True Pursuit of Happiness Listens to NO Excuses
You either remain an incomplete slave to your excuses, or you tap into your resourcefulness to become a complete human. It’s as simple as that.
The results you have in your life now are a product of what you do. And what you do, are effectively, your habits. If you want to experience the joys of having a better life, you need better results. And to have better results, you need better habits. That’s why creating new habits that are in line with your goals is crucial to achieving your goals with joy, power and purpose. (Gary Ryan Blair)

What's the number one secret to change
Automatic Change without will power (Micheal Norman)
"One of the major secret is that your emotions are the greatest point of leverage. Most people try to change their thoughts and habits directly, and it's actually not the most effective way....If you direct your emotions everything else follows automatically...

The Gum under the table
Chapter 1
My mother sat in her room crying, she shouted’ “I hate you.” These feelings of anger and animosity rose after she and my dad argued. My father would lock us up and threaten to kill us if we cried. I saw the shadows of their bodies through the crack of the door, my father raised his hands and when it came down my mother feel to the ground.
Shouting and crying where familiar voices that echoed through our home when they argued. This mood was a domino effect, my brothers would hurdle up and cry and beg my father to stop beating our mother. My brothers stood their in tears mumbling, “leave my mother alone,” while my father beat her merciless. My brothers will comfort me with encouraging words, “everything will be okay,” then they would say a pray.
She would then go to her room threatening to leave my dad. He would walk away and blamed her for his actions.
Like rats when no one is home or in sight they come out in the open, we came out from the room one by one in slow motion, with each foot precisely stepping in a pattern. My mother when she heard us coming she would try very hard to compose herself and ask us if we okay. We could see her blue black eyes and her bruised hands. I immediately started crying, I felt sorry for her. My brothers showed no emotions, they just stood silently.
One evening I saw him pulled a gun to kill her. He dragged her in the back of the house. My aunt immediately called the police. They came and took my mother away.
My mother finally got the courage to leave my father. The same way she started living with my father is the same way she left. She left her home in her early teen as a result of frustration. Her mother constantly abused her, until one day she said no more and gathered her things and ran way straight to my father’s home.
That day she told my dad my grandmother was sick and she sent for her, my father agreed that she go to attend to her. She looked at me admirably and said she loved me and she will come back for me. She hugged each of us and said she loved us. We watched her walked out the gate with our dad and waved the last time. We traced her shadow until we could not see it no more. Not knowing that that was her steps to free herself, she never looked back even though we shouted, “bye mom.” She probably thought she might have gotten could cold feet and turned back or she would turn into a pillar of salt like Ellielar when she left the city of Gormora.
I was still small when she left. My father took responsibility of being both mother and father. I am the only girl of three. He would comb my hair from time to time when the neighbor could not.
I remembered going to school with my hair in two plaits that stock in the air like cow horns. The other kids would laugh at me but I boasted I was proud, because no one else’s father comb their hair.
Growing up in broken is not so under rated as people say. Everybody have problems, the difference is, it is at different level and the way we learn to deal with it. There are two things one can do with a problem, 1 they react to it or 2 acts on it. Fortunately for us my father did not react to it by drinking out his lungs and abused us. Instead he acted on it and loved us.
One day he carried us shopping and I tried on a dress, he told me I looked beautiful and I was his princes. Things were really happy for us. Little then he knew he was my king and my family was our kingdom.
Our kingdom was disturbed one day. I remembered vividly when she walked through that door. I was so happy to see my mother but my father was not, so she left. I rushed to my room forth with and stood in front of the mirror and began to examine my features and I could see her face on mines. I saw the same smile. Then I thought if I kept smiling I will always be with my mother.

Lizann Burke's Testimony...No room for God, by Emily Laing
Chapter 1
My name is Lizann Burke and this is my testimony. Secondary school was the best days that I ever had. This transition from childhood to adolescent was a whole new world that I experimented fully. My body was getting fertilized for germination. My breast began to erect like two lumps of soft dough. My body had special curves in all the right places. There was no exception. My alliances of friends met during this period. This transition marked an unforgettable beginning.
We connected and created a bond that was until death do us part. We made our own rules and lived life to the fullest, never wasting any moment of having fun. The five of us Tricia, Genny, Daniel and Sherry were as thick as thieves.
On some days we just skipped school for a day of joy ride in a maxi. Tricia who knew the conductor of the maxi always organized the road trip. We sometimes go to the beach or the river and hang out. Tricia on the other hand would openly make out with the conductor and sometime they would go into the maxi for a while and then she would come out very disorganized. She later told us that she had intercourse with Dave the conductor. She said she did not wanted to but he said “that is what people do when they are in love and I needed to show him my love for him is real- it was my first time and it hurt”. That was all she said that evening.
The next day we stayed in school. My childhood friend Nikada and I attend the same church and now the same school, she always invited me to attend Inter Christian Fellowship group in school. This group met every Thursday to talk about the bible and coping with challenges faced at school. They adhere to a biblical perspective that leads the lives they lived. Do not matter how much time I turned her down she still invites me. She would encourage me by saying “God is very patient and he will wait, there is always room for you when you are ready”.

Limitation an illusion
Limitation is a noun that means the act of limiting, a restriction or shortcoming. Now then what does limit means? It is the furthest point that is possible or allowable. Let’s examine ourselves as limited human being. What can you picture? Pause for a minute and write down your limits as a person.
Now let’s examine a biblical aspect, Genesis 1:26- …let them have dominion over… dominion here means the power or right to govern or control. Now read over your limitation on what you wrote and Genesis 1:26 and also the meaning of dominion… it is very contradicting. How can we be limited and have dominion at the same time?
Get a copy of the secret; I give you my word once you practice the law of attraction, limitation will no longer exist in your dictionary. These are a few things I have learned from the book and DVD.
Thoughts and ideas are translated by the universe and becomes living truth of our lives. Empirical evidence shows how this behavior is manifested. Theorist Albert Ellis was no genius for coming with this theory since biblical teaching had already came up with these thoughts… (Words are powerfully, life and death lies in the power of the tongue), looking at life here in the things we want to achieve and death as something that we do not want. Now as it is scientifically proven Ellis postulated that people thoughts affect and often change and create their feelings and behavior. Their emotions affect their thoughts and action. Their acts affect their thoughts and feelings. People are therefore capable of creating their problems by their irrational thoughts and also have potential for growth through rational thinking.
By people aligning their lives with positive behavior, it will definitely change the way we think, which will lead to change the way we live. Limitation will exist as an illusion to us for we can do all things…through… now scrap the things you wrote earlier on and now write all the things that you want. In due time it shall be manifested in your life. Let the law of attraction work for you

I AM WRITING MY OWN DESTINY
Here I stand
a thousand time before
Walking away from you
like I always do
It is so hard to let go
of the very thing that
represented love to me
Every footstep I take
I am wondering if it is right
I am
writing my own destiny
figuring out
who I want to be
and no you cannot
tell me what you want from me
I am letting you know
how to treat me
I deserve to be happy
it is all about me
I finally find a way to be free
letting go of you
and finding me
I am writing my destiny
of who I am going to be
a thousand time before
Walking away from you
like I always do
It is so hard to let go
of the very thing that
represented love to me
Every footstep I take
I am wondering if it is right
I am
writing my own destiny
figuring out

I am letting you know
how to treat me
I deserve to be happy
it is all about me
I finally find a way to be free
letting go of you
and finding me
I am writing my destiny
of who I am going to be
